Life Through Music

I love music, it speaks to you in a way not many people can. It changes your mood, your notion even your life. Our house is always filled with music, whether we’re enjoying the radio, singing a nursery rhyme, or banging pots and pans, we just love to make noise. So it’s only fitting when I think back to my life I see it through music.

Here are five songs that have moved me in my life –

Simply Red – Holding Back the Years

This takes me back to my childhood, to my mum cooking dinner singing her heart out. I can’t help but smile when I hear this song. It takes me back to the happy times of growing up.

Oasis – Don’t Look Back in Anger

I can’t help but love being a Manchester girl when I hear this song. It makes me think of home. My days work in Manchester City Centre, the people, the laughter, the city life.

The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army

This is my coming of age song. It reminds me of my partying, carefree days. Learning to drive, gaining my independence, enjoying my freedom. Sleeping all day, dancing all night.

Nizlopi – JCB Song

This song reminds me of my children and the memories I hope to give them. I hope they look back with huge smiles and remember the fun and happiness with share. This song speaks to my heart.

Lukas Graham – 7 years

This is my song for now, we love it as a family. It’s encouraged us to talk about the future and talk about now together. It’s just a fantastic feel good song, give it a listen!
